This is the second book in this series and starts right in where the first book ended. Kayden wasn't supposed to fall in love with the prince, but she has learned that she wasn't given correct information about this assignment. Things have gone a bit haywire and she's not sure who to trust. Based on what happened at the end of book one, Dvarius has questions about Kayden and is anxious to get some answers. But Kayden isn't too anxious to give them to him.

I like both Dvarius and Kayden and hope their relationship can work. Her assignment is a huge complication, though. We learned more about Kayden's past which gave some insight into her current behavior and what she feels she deserves. The Queen makes more of an appearance in this book so we get to know her better as well. Kayden's friendship with one of her rivals continues to develop. Kayden makes a decision at the end that will change everything and then it ends on a cliffhanger!

I liked this book more than the first one. It was a little slower in the beginning as Kayden was recuperating but still moved at a fairly rapid pace. I would highly recommend reading the first book in this series before reading this one. Overall, I like this series and will definitely read the final book to see how it all ends!
